Mercer County Divorce Records
Divorce cases are legally referred to as dissolution cases in Mercer. These cases fall under the jurisdiction of the Family Division of the Superior Court in the county. Once a judge grants a judgment in a dissolution case, the case is considered closed, meaning the record of the proceeding will not be available to just any member of the public. Instead, the records are transferred to the Office of the Superior Court Clerk for archiving. Inquiries about divorces that have taken place in the county can be directed to the Superior Court Clerk's office.
Copies of a divorce record in Mercer County are only available to the parties to the case, their attorneys, and anyone with a court order. Parties requesting their records would need to present a valid state identification card to retrieve the record.
